Predator drones would be pretty useless in high intensity warfare and so would most of the aircraft. Could also be a nice scenario between RSA/UAE v Iran, or Israel v Iran. Bombing Syria, Afghanistan or Syria is 'boring' when it comes to an RTS. I don't mean the recent wars where 1st world armies fight 2nd/3rd world nations or insurgencies. and when I mean modern warfare, I mean US/NATO/JAPAN/AUS/ROK vs RUSSIA/CHINA/DRK with potentially India v Pakistan thrown into boot. I think modern warfare would actually be quite enjoyable. Idk, I loved the Wargame series, however its always nice to know that your favoirte genere of games is getting some acknolegement from one of your favorite game developers. I'm quite happy that EUGEN is addressing this issue and taking it as an opportuniy to not only benfit profit wise from providing a game to a dying breed but increase its community size. Since the cancel of C&C 2 the base building strategy games have mainly been indie games and in browser which never provide the same feeling.

However If you have been active in the RTS series for a long time (2003) the orginal base building rts games have been dying out after the murder of C&C generals by the corporate monsters of EA. I honestly would love a small last minute DLC that would add in 2000 era units it seems to move away from the base Wargame: Red Dragon was built off of which was the Vietnam and Korean War eras. The fact that the gameplay was not only hisotrically realistic and realistic combat wise is a type of inovation we don't see much in developers. While I do agree with what your're saying, Wargame did create a type of RTS nobody has ever seen which is what made it so unique and original. I'd love to have modern units, but yeah, maybe they would have to take some serious action against stuff like predators and other overpowered (in game terms) assets. While AoA looks good it might also have a base building mechanic (going by the building undergoing construction in the trailer) and while that's something I can get behind i'd prefer it to feel like Wargame where you're actually deploying Battlegroups into a conflict instead of trickling units in from resource nodes. That, or have them useable in the tactical map where you issue orders. They'd probably have near zero armour too. Maybe have stuff like predators single use or have extremely high refuel & rearm times. Sure, it's hillarious to call in a predator drone in CoD, but having such a thing in wargame would probably result in a dumbed down gameplay.
